Physicians and other health care professionals engaging in Performance Improvement CME activities.

Elements of Competence

This CME activity has been designed to change knowledge and focuses on the American Board of Medical Specialities areas of professionalism, practice-based learning and improvement, and systems-based practice.

Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  1. Understand and explain how the formats and purposes of CME have changed over the past decade to meet healthcare needs
  2. Understand and explain the potential impact of PI CME on patient outcomes

Method of Participation

The estimated time to complete the activity and exam is 1 hour(s). To receive credit, a passing grade of 80% is required on a short multiple choice exam. You will have one opportunity to retake the quiz to achieve a passing score. After you have completed your exam and evaluation you will be able to automatically print your credit letter.

To receive continuing education credits, you will need to view the course, then complete the online quiz and evaluation. To do this, follow all the directions listed below.

  1. If you have not done so already, create a FREE user account. To do this click on the [Account Sign-up] button at the top of the screen.
  2. Click on [Register for Credit].
  3. To view this Online CME course, click the [Begin Course] link located in the upper right column under [Course Materials].
  4. After viewing the course, complete the online quiz and evaluation by clicking the [Quiz & Course Evaluation] link located in the upper right column under [Course Materials].
  5. Certificates for credit courses can be printed immediately after successful completion of the quiz and evaluation. Select the appropriate [View Certificate] box and print it for your records.
